Local Trailblazer joins Talwood Pink Ladies Day

25 Jul 2024

Talwood’s small population will triple on Friday 2nd August as women from across the region descend on this year’s Suncorp Bank Talwood Pink Ladies Day to raise funds in support of Rural Women’s Health and find inspiration in the trailblazing story of Guest Speaker Natalie Fogarty.

Having grown up on a beef cattle property near Inverell in Northern New South Wales and having lived, supported, worked, and owned businesses in regional and rural communities all her life, Natalie brings a wealth of stories filled with great highs, lows, and everything in-between.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said the Foundation is excited to welcome Natalie as this year’s Suncorp Bank Talwood Pink Ladies Day Guest Speaker.

“I know that Natalie has been a guest many times at previous Weengallon and Talwood Pink Ladies Days, so it’s a real treat to see her switch places to be our Guest Speaker,” she said.

“Natalie is a country girl who has always left such an impact in the communities she’s been involved in, to have someone so passionate about rural communities helping us raise funds for local women’s health is wonderful.

“The Talwood recreation grounds will be transformed into a wonderland of markets, art, great food and drinks and you’ll have the chance to win a gorgeous Baroque Pearl Belcher Chain Bracelet and set of Baroque Pearl Earrings valued at $4,000 thanks to Hogans Family Jewellers.

“The Suncorp Bank Talwood Pink Ladies Day is going to be a really fun day, so make sure you gather your friends, mum, sisters, aunties, and nanna to get behind this great fundraiser.”

Guest Speaker Natalie Fogarty said she looks forward to sharing her journey.

“I’m going to chat to guests about being the first female paramedic in Toowoomba, about infertility, about my rural upbringing, and I’ll chat a little about business and a lot about resilience,” she said.

“So why not come along for a wonderful day out, meet new people, make new friends and rekindle old friendships and help us raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.”

Former Queensland Chief Entrepreneur and Goondiwindi local Julia Spicer has also stepped on board as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

Suncorp Bank Talwood Pink Ladies Day is on Friday 2nd August from 10am at the Talwood Recreation Grounds. Tickets are $95 per person and includes a catered lunch, drink on arrival, keynote speaker, live entertainment, and market stalls.
