When local businesses step up to support the community, it creates a ripple effect that touches countless lives. The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is deeply grateful to Harvey Norman Toowoomba for their generous $10,000 donation, which has made the purchase of a Lymphatouch Pro device possible. This cutting-edge equipment is set to significantly enhance the treatment capabilities within the Cancer Care Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy departments at Toowoomba Hospital. And behind this donation is a deeply personal story that connects the Harvey Norman Toowoomba team with the cause in a meaningful way.

The Lymphatouch Pro is a specialised tool designed to manage conditions like scars and lymphoedema, particularly for patients recovering from breast cancer surgery. Its precision and adjustable pressure settings allow therapists to customise treatments to each patient’s unique needs, ensuring both enhanced comfort and improved outcomes.

Equipped with multiple attachment heads, the Lymphatouch Pro is versatile enough to treat various parts of the body, making it an invaluable addition to the hospital’s treatment arsenal. Beyond patient benefits, the device also helps ease the physical burden on therapists, reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries—a vital step toward supporting staff wellness and ensuring long-term sustainability in healthcare delivery.

Lana, a dedicated team member from BreastScreen, recently met with the Foundation and Harvey Norman Toowoomba representatives to share how the Lymphatouch Pro will make a positive impact. The team have eagerly awaited the arrival of this long-desired equipment — knowing it will significantly improve patient care, reduce recovery times, and boost treatment quality.

This annual donation from Harvey Norman Toowoomba reflects their ongoing commitment to enhancing local healthcaren by supporting Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. This year, they chose to direct their support specifically to BreastScreen Toowoomba through the Foundation in honour of Camille, one of their team members who is currently undergoing breast cancer treatment at Toowoomba Hospital. Camille’s experience has inspired them to give back in a way that will help not only her but countless other women in the community.

Cara, the Electrical Proprietor from Harvey Norman Toowoomba expressed the team's pride in being able to equip BreastScreen with such an essential piece of equipment, noting that it will directly support local women like their colleague Camille. In Camille’s own words:
"Going through treatment for breast cancer is tough. I’m incredibly grateful that my colleagues chose to donate to the hospital foundation to purchase equipment because of my situation. I am proud and very much appreciative that it will help, not just me personally but all breast cancer patients and other patients that this will benefit. The care I have been given from the staff at the hospital has been phenomenal, I am only 1/3 the way through the treatment, but I would especially like to thank the Oncology department and the Cancer Care Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy departments for their care."

The Lymphatouch Pro is not only set to improve the lives of patients undergoing treatment but will also provide much-needed relief and support to the healthcare professionals who dedicate their time and expertise to caring for them.

Donations like these do more than allow businesses to give back to their communities — they create a direct link between personal stories and the ability to change many lives. Once again, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Harvey Norman Toowoomba for their invaluable support. The Lymphatouch Pro will make a lasting impact on both patients and healthcare providers, raising the standard of care for our community.
